Help and guide

How Links works: connecting Instagram, writing an automation, the inbox, what Instagram allows, plans, and what to do when something does not work.

Links answers your Instagram comments and messages for you. Connect your account once, write the rule on one screen, and every reply lands in one inbox.

Start here

  1. 1Create an account with your email address and confirm it with the six-digit code we send.
  2. 2Create a workspace. It holds your channels, contacts, automations and inbox.
  3. 3Connect your Instagram professional account from Settings, then Channels.
  4. 4Write your first rule on the quick automation screen.
  5. 5Publish it, and watch the replies arrive in the inbox.

Connecting Instagram

Links uses Instagram's own login, so your Instagram password is never typed into Links.

  1. 1Open Settings, then Channels.
  2. 2Press Connect Instagram. Instagram asks you to sign in, so you choose which account to connect.
  3. 3Allow the three permissions: the account and its posts, its comments, and its messages.
  4. 4The card then shows the account, the date it was connected, and that it is receiving new comments and messages.
  • The account has to be a professional account, Business or Creator. A personal account is refused.
  • Reconnect signs back into the same account without asking for the login again. To connect a different account, use Connect Instagram.
  • Re-check reads the connection again when something looks wrong.
  • Disconnect deletes the stored token and stops everything from that account at once.

Writing an automation

A rule is one screen: what starts it, what it says, and where it runs.

  1. 1Open Automation, then New automation, then Start from scratch.
  2. 2Choose what starts it: a direct message, or a comment on a post or reel.
  3. 3Write the words to look for, separated by commas. Arabic and English both work.
  4. 4Write the reply. A comment rule replies under the comment.
  5. 5Name the rule, then press Publish.
  • Edit opens the same screen filled in with what the rule does now. Publish changes makes them live; Save as draft leaves the live version answering.
  • Stop pauses a rule. Delete removes it from the lists and keeps its past runs in the insights.
  • Live means the rule is answering, Draft means it was never published, Paused means it is stopped.
  • Match mode decides how closely a word has to match: anywhere in the message, as a whole word, at the start, or exactly.
  • With "Also send them a DM" on, the message goes as Instagram's private reply to the comment: one text message, with the button written under it as a link. What comes after it, like the email question, is sent once the person answers.
  • For a giveaway, turn on "Only the first people" under "Who gets it" and set the number. Each person counts once, however often they comment, and the count holds when many comment at once. Everyone after them gets your message for latecomers once, and it does not count them as active contacts. The automation page shows the count; "Start a new round" sets it back to zero.

The inbox

Every conversation from every connected account, in one list.

  1. 1Open Inbox and pick a conversation.
  2. 2Read the thread, with the automated replies in it.
  3. 3Write your own reply and send it.
  • Pause automation on a conversation while you answer by hand, then resume it when you are done.
  • Instagram allows a reply within 24 hours of the person's last message. After that the conversation waits for them to write again.

Contacts and tags

Everyone who wrote to you, with what you know about them.

  • Tags group people, and the contact list can be filtered by tag.
  • A rule can ask for an email address and store it on the contact.

Insights

What ran, what was sent, and what each automation did, day by day.

What Instagram allows

  • The person writes first. Links never starts a conversation.
  • A reply to a message goes out within 24 hours of the person's last message.
  • A comment gets a public reply under it, and one private reply in DMs within seven days of the comment. More messages follow once the person answers.
  • Everything stops while the account is disconnected, and starts again when it is reconnected.

Plans

A workspace gets a 14-day free trial of Basic once a Visa or Mastercard is saved in Settings, then Subscription. Nothing is charged during the trial; when it ends, the card is charged each month until you cancel.

  • Basic is 5 KWD a month (1 user, 500 active contacts, 5 automations), Pro 10 KWD (4 users, 1,500 active contacts, 10 automations) and Business 12 KWD (8 users, 2,500 active contacts, 20 automations). Every plan connects two accounts, Instagram and TikTok.
  • Subscriptions are paid by Visa or Mastercard, and a Kuwaiti bank card with either logo works when you enter its 16 digits. The card is charged when you subscribe and on the 25th of each month. KNET, Apple Pay and Google Pay are for buying more active contacts.
  • You can save up to three cards: the main card and two backups. If the bank declines the main card, we charge the first backup, then the second, and email you which card paid.
  • Marketing agencies pay 3 KWD a month per client. Each client gets its own workspace (two accounts, 1,000 active contacts and 5 automations), the agency keeps its own, and the agency team works in all of them. The plan opens once we approve the commercial licence you send from Settings, then Subscription.
  • An active contact is anyone an automation answers during the month. At the limit, automations keep answering this month's contacts and new people get no automatic reply; the owners get an email.
  • The monthly price stays the same every month. Need more active contacts in a month? From Settings, then Subscription, add 100 for 2 KWD, paid once and good until your renewal date. More automations or people come with a bigger plan: upgrade now, and a new month starts today, or from your next renewal, with nothing to pay now. A smaller plan starts at the next renewal. We email you when 100 active contacts are left.
  • After the trial without a subscription your data and your connected accounts stay, and the automations pause.

When something does not work

  • The card says Disconnected: press Reconnect.
  • The card says it is not receiving activity yet: press Re-check.
  • A rule does not answer: check that it is Live, that the words match what people actually write, and that the person wrote within the last 24 hours.
  • The sign-in code did not arrive: look in the spam folder, then press Send again once the countdown ends.
  • Nothing here helped: write to us with the workspace name and the time it happened.
